Dr. Fixit Pidicrete is an integral waterproofing admixture that is added directly to concrete or mortar mixes during mixing. Unlike surface-applied coatings, Pidicrete makes the concrete itself waterproof by blocking capillary pores and micro-cracks from within. It is the ideal choice for new construction projects where waterproofing needs to be built into the structure itself — water tanks, basements, retaining walls, sunken slabs, and bathrooms in new buildings.

Pidicrete works by reacting with the cement hydration products to form hydrophobic (water-repelling) crystals that block the capillary pores in concrete. For this crystallization to happen properly, the concrete must be well-cured for at least 14 days (28 days is ideal). Insufficient curing means incomplete cement hydration, which means fewer crystals can form, which means reduced waterproofing.
